I recently went on a hair care course provided by Plush Folly making shampoo, conditioner and hair serum. Rather than using a soap base which contains lye and is too alkali for hair, these recipes used surfactants (surfactants lower the surface tension of a liquid and can act as detergents/emulsifiers/foaming agents).

This rainy season has made our garden go completely wild (and it’s paved!) so in an attempt to restore some dignity to it I went out with the shears. I remembered we have a lavender and rosemary bush in the back corner and realised these are perfect ingredients for Fillanew’s recipes. I can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner!
